Department of History

Overview

The Department of History provides comprehensive education in world, national, and regional histories with emphasis on critical analysis and research skills. It promotes historiography, primary source study, and interdisciplinary learning to understand the relevance of the past in contemporary society. The department offers dedicated and structured coaching for UPSC and TNPSC examinations integrated with the academic curriculum. Regular answer writing practice, test series, current affairs discussions, and interview guidance strengthen competitive exam readiness. The department prepares students for higher studies, research, and successful careers in civil services and public administration.
